| Here I am to acknowledge that I had received a letter by post consisting a few drawings of children and a letter. I also acknowledge that I had received the gift Euro 1850.00 safely. Thank you very much for everything. Please thank all the parents who adopted the children for their goodness. Children are getting ready for their annual exams. Please pray or them. | Vi comunico di avere ricevuto una lettera per posta contenente alcuni disegni e una lettera. Ho pure correttamente ricevuto l’offerta di 1.850 euro. Grazie mille per ogni cosa. Ringrazia tutti i “genitori” che hanno adottato i nostri ragazzi, per la loro bontà. I ragazzi si stanno preparando ai loro esami annuali. Vogliate pregate per loro. |

I would like to give a brief report of our Easter celebrations. Monty Thursday: On this day we began our celebrations at 6.00 p.m .Our ceremony continued till 12.p.m at night. Around 300 hundred people gathered apart from Boarding children for the Holy Mass. Good Friday: We began our day ceremonies at 10.a.m morning. Apart from Boarding children, 600 hundred people gathered for the Good Friday celebrations. We had everything in the school auditorium. From 10.00 to 2.00 p.m we had meditative reflections and preaching by three priests and two catechists. From 2.00 p.m to 2.15 a gap was given for drinking water. At 2.15 p.m. we began the Way of the Cross out side [open area] We tied a sound system [mike] to bicycle. We placed the Way of the Cross pictures on iron poles. It was very nice to see. Around 700 people participating in the Way of the Cross, all at the same standing, all at the same time kneeling down and all at the same time praying with one voice witnessed the faith and increased the faith also. We finished the whole ceremony on Good Friday by 5.30 p.m. Local News papers carried out News in their papers about out Way of the Cross. |
Vorrei farvi un resoconto succinto delle nostre celebrazioni pasquali. Giovedì Santo: in questo giorno sono iniziate le nostre celebrazioni, alle ore 18.00. I nostri riti sono continuati fino a mezzanotte. Circa trecento persone si sono raccolte, oltre ai ragazzi ospitati. Venerdì Santo. Abbiamo iniziato le celebrazione del giorno alle ore 10.00. Oltre ai bambini ospitati, 600 persone si sono raccolte per le funzioni. Tutto si è svolto nell’auditorium della scuola. Dalle 10.00 alle 14.00 hanno avuto luogo meditazioni e preghiere guidate da tre preti e due catechisti. Dalle 14.00 alle 14.15, pausa/rinfresco. Alle 14.15, inizio della Via Crucis all’aperto, con un sistema di diffusione sonora mobile (a bicicletta). Le immagini delle stazioni sono state fissate su aste metalliche. È stato davvero bello a vedersi. All’incirca 700 persone hanno preso parte alla Via Crucis, tutti quanti ed allo stesso modo in piedi, inginocchiandosi e, con un’unica voce, pregando e testimoniando la fede e l’aumento della fede. I giornali locali hanno riferito della Via Crucis. |

| Easter: Our parish Easter celebrations began on Saturday evening at 8.30.p.m. We began our procession with Easter Candle at 8.30 p.m through many streets of Razole town. The procession was very beautiful to see with many candles. The procession was very long one. It took two hours to reach again back to parish. The procession was a faith witnessing one. To attract the non-Christian and to avoid the ill feeling of non-Christians against Christians we were praying for the country, national leaders, our town [Razole] and for all the walks of people through different slogans. It attracted many people and many people liked it. We had a nice and positive feed back next day morning. Easter vigil Mass started around 10.15 p.m. The Holy Mass was over by 12.30. at night. Again around 700 people gathered for the Easter Vigil. After the Holy Mass we had common meal. We all sat together and had shared our unity, joy and happiness through this common meal. | Pasqua. I riti pasquali sono iniziati sabato sera, alle ore 20.30. Abbiamo cominciato la nostra processione con il cero pasquale alle 20.30 attraversando varie strade del centro di Razole. La processione è stata molto bella a vedersi, con numerose candele. Ed è stata assai lunga. Sono servite due ore per fare ritorno alla parrocchia. È stata una vera testimonianza di fede. Per attirare i non–cristiani e per evitare l’ostilità dei non–cristiani contro i cristiani, pregavamo per il paese, per i capi della nazione, per la nostra città (Razole) e per tutta la gente in cammino, con varie invocazioni. Ciò ha attirato ed è piaciuto a molta gente. Così, all’indomani mattina, abbiamo avuto un buono e positivo riscontro. La messa della vigilia pasquale è iniziata attorno le ore 22.15. La santa messa è terminata oltre mezzanotte e mezza ed anche in questa occasione si sono riunite circa 700 persone. Dopo la messa, abbiamo mangiato insieme. Ci siamo sedute insieme condividendo, con questo pasto comune, la nostra unità, la nostra gioia e felicità. | |
| I was quite happy. It was the first celebration in the parish after my taking charge. Let the risen Lord be glorified in everything that happen. We praise Jesus and we thank Jesus. | Ciò mi ha resto assai felice: è stata la prima celebrazione nella parrocchia da quando ne ho assunto la guida. Sia glorificato il Signore risorto, in tutto quando accade. Lodiamo e ringraziamo Gesù. | |

| A few Words about Me: As you know I am Fr. Katam Balthazar. Katam is my surname. Balthazar is my name. I am father and mother. They are old. I have six brothers and one sister. We are eight children. In fact we are nine. A boy elder to me expired before I was born. His name was Balthazar. After my birth again I was name Balthazar. I finished my seminary studies – minor seminary at Nidadavole and Major seminary studies at Janampet. | Alcune parole sul mio conto: come sapete io sono padre Katam Balthazar. Katam è il mio cognome. Balthazar è il mio nome. Ho mio padre e mia madre. Sono anziani. Ho sei fratelli ed una sorella. Siamo otto fratelli. In realtà saremmo in nove: un fratello più grande morì prima della mia nascita. Si chiamava Balthazar. Sicché diedero questo nome anche a me. Io ho portato a termine i miei studi: prima nel seminario di Nidadavole e poi, gli studi superiori, in quello di Janampet. | |

I was ordained Priest on January 4, 1999. I was appointed as assistant parish priest at Santhinagar parish Feb 1, 1999. I worked here as assistant parish priest till October, 1999 [eight months] On October 4, 1999, I got transfer and again I was appointed as assistant parish priest at RAZOLE. Under Fr. Joseph Oliapram. I worked at Razole under late Fr. Joseph Oliapram till January 31, 2001. For about two years I worked at Razole as assistant parish priest. |
Fui ordinato prete il 4 gennaio 1999. Venni nominato assistente del parroco nella Parrocchia di Santhinagar, il 1° febbraio 1999. Qui lavorai come assistente parroco fino al mese di ottobre 1999 (otto mesi). Il 4 ottobre 1999 venni trasferito e mi fu nuovamente dato l’incarico di assistente del parroco, questa volta a Razole, sotto padre Joseph Oliapram. Qui collaborai con padre Joseph fino al 31 gennaio 2001. Dunque sono stato assistente parroco a Razole per circa due anni. |

From Razole a new parish was erected. It is called Mamidikuduru parish. On Jan 31, 2001, I was appointed as the first parish priest at Mamidikuduru. There for my people I started and run a school. I run a tailoring center creating self employment for rural women and girls. I run a computer center creating self employment for rural youth. Again I got transfer and I took charge of Razole on Nov 12, 2007. It is my 10th year of my priesthood. I am just young. I am happy to work in Razole in the place of late Fr. Joseph Oliapram – a holy man. |
Da Razole venne eretta una nuova parrocchia, chiamata Parrocchia di Mamidikuduru. Il 31 gennaio 2001 fui nominato quale primo parroco a Mamidikuduru, dove, per la mia gente, ho creato una scuola. Mando avanti un centro di sartoria che dà lavoro alle donne ed alle ragazze delle zone rurali. Mando avanti anche un centro di computer che offre impiego ai giovani delle campagne. Venni di nuovo trasferito a Razole il 12 novembre 2007. È il mio 10° anno di sacerdozio. Sono ancora giovane. Sono felice di lavorare a Razole al posto del defunto padre Joseph Oliapram – un uomo santo. |

Fr. Joseph Oliapram is man with commitment and dedication. He is a man of prayer and a man of holiness. He is man with lot of zeal for evangelization. He is a man with a good heart for the poor. He gave food for many. He gave shelter to many. Through schools he gave good education. Through Boarding he educated many poor and orphan children. He was a man with simplicity and self control. He was a model for many young priests. On his funeral day, Bishop said that “Fr.Joseph Oliapram can be rightly called as the “apostle of Konaseema” |
Padre Joseph Oliapram è un uomo di impegno e dedizione; è un uomo di preghiera e di santità; è un uomo dotato di grande zelo per l’evangelizzazione; è un uomo dal grande cuore per i poveri: ha dato cibo ed un tetto a molti. Attraverso scuole ha dato buona educazione; ha offerto ospitalità ed ha educato molti poveri e bambini orfani. Era un uomo dotato di semplicità ed autocontrollo. È stato un modello per molti giovani preti. Il giorno del suo funerale, il vescovo disse che padre Joseph, a buon diritto, può essere chiamato come “apostolo di Konaseema”. |
