Questa lettera, datata 1° settembre 2008 (scritta, quindi, contemporaneamente a
quella già pubblicata pervenuta via e-mail),
è arrivata col servizio postale il giorno 24 settembre 2008, insieme con alcune
fotografie che illustrano i luoghi dove attualmente i fedeli si riuniscono per il culto e quello dove vorrebbero erigere la loro nuova chiesa parrocchiale. Parla anche dei disordini religiosi di cui i telegiornali ed i mezzi di comunicazione ci hanno dato notizia recentemente, ossia delle
persecuzioni subite dai cristiani.

Greetings to you and to Rev. Giancarlo and the all the parishioners of Mandriolo from Fr. K. Balthazar, Catholic Mission Razole. I am very glad to write these lines to you with love and gratitude.

Salute a te, a don Giancarlo ed a tutti i parrocchiani di Mandriolo da padre K. Balthazar, missione cattolica di Razole. Sono molto lieto di scrivere queste righe a voi con amore e gratitudine.
|

Here, everything is going on well. My mission work is progressing well. Boarding ministry and school ministry are also going on well by the grace of God and by your prayerful and financial support.

Qui, tutto sta andando bene. La mia attività nella missione sta procedendo bene, compresa quella relativa all’ospitalità ed alla scuola, per merito della grazia di Dio e delle vostre preghiere e del vostro aiuto economico.
|

Recently in one of our neighbor state, there are religious riots. Still now it is going on well. In my state itself an young priest of 6 years was stabbed and killed on the way as he is going back at night after celebrating Holy Mass in one of the sub-stations of the parish. By the grace of God we are safe. So far we have nothing of this sort.

Recentemente, in uno stato vicino, ci sono scontri religiosi. Ancora oggi sono in corso. Nel mio stesso stato un giovane sacerdote (da 6 anni) è stato accoltellato e ucciso mentre di notte rientrava dopo aver celebrato la Santa Messa in una frazione della parrocchia. Grazie a Dio noi siamo salvi. Niente di simile ci è ancora successo.

As you had asked me to send a few photos [pictures] of the present chapel and of the place where the new parish church has to come up. Here I enclose the photos [pictures] that you asked for.

Come mi avete chiesto, spedisco alcune fotografie dell’attuale cappella e del luogo dove dovrebbe sorgere la nuova chiesa parrocchiale. Allego qui le immagini che avete domandato.

1. Present Chapel Photo: This is a small chapel Previously this chapel was used for daily Holy Mass from Monday to Friday for Boarding children and for Nuns. From June, 2008 on ward we are not using this Chapel for daily Holy Mass as it is not sufficient. Because the children in the Boarding increase. The people go on visit this Chapel from morning to evening. We conduct “Fasting and Penance” prayers on every Friday.

1. Immagine dell’attuale cappella: è una piccola cappella. In precedenza essa veniva utilizzata dal lunedì al venerdì, per la Santa Messa quotidiana, dai bambini ospitati e dalle suore. Da giugno 2008 non usiamo più questa cappella per la messa quotidiana perché insufficiente. I bambini ospiti crescono e la gente visita questa cappella da mattino a sera. Ogni venerdì preghiamo praticando digiuno e penitenza.

2. School Hall: At present we use this big School Hall for daily Holy Mass. Previously this School hall is used only on Saturday and Sunday as more people attend on these two days. As present Chapel is not sufficient for Boarding children and for parishioners we make use this School hall Montay to Sunday.

2. Salone della scuola: attualmente usiamo questa grande sala scolastica per la Santa Messa quotidiana. In precedenza essa veniva utilizzata solo di sabato e domenica, dato il maggior numero di fedeli in questi due giorni. Essendo ora la cappella insufficiente per i bimbi ospiti ed i parrocchiani, usiamo questo salone dal lunedì alla domenica.

3. Here I enclose the picture of site [place] where we want to construct the new parish Church. The proposed Parish will be 80 feet length and 40 feet width.

3. Allego qui l’immagine del luogo dove intendiamo costruire la nuova chiesa parrocchiale che vorremmo fosse di 80 piedi di lunghezza per 40 di larghezza.

Our Bishop is coming this parish on Sept 7th, 2008 for the First Death Anniversary Memorial Eucharistic Celebration. My Bishop agreed to lay foundation stone for this new parish Church on Sept 7th, 2008. Is is a good news.

|
È prevista la visita del nostro vescovo il 7 settembre 2008, per la celebrazione del “First Death Anniversary Memorial Eucharistic”. Egli ha convenuto di posare in quella data la prima pietra di questa nuova chiesa parrocchiale. Questa è una buona notizia.

Once again I think you for your goodness in taking interest in putting up this new parish. We all are praying for this intention. We assure you of our daily prayers for you, for Don Giancarlo and all the parishioners of Mandriolo.
