Lettera del 17 novembre 2007 scritta da Padre K. Balthazar, nuovo Parroco di Razole. Ci comunica una dolorosa notizia: il caro padre Joseph Oliapram, parroco per decenni di Amalapuram-Razole, se n’è andato in cielo. Era stimatissimo ed amatissimo fra la sua gente, un vero benefattore che ha dato la vita mettendo in pratica e diffondendo instancabilmente il messaggio di Cristo. È stato un edificante esempio per tutti, ci mancherà e lo ricorderemo sempre con grandissimo affetto.
Ora abbiamo un angelo protettore in più.

| I am Fr. Balthazar, newly appointed as the parish priest of Razole in the place of Fr. Joseph Olipram. I was one of the assistants of Fr. Joseph Oliapram. Till now I worked as the parish priest of Mamidikuduru. It is one of the parishes established hy Fr. | SAD NEWS: You might be knowing this news. If not I am really very sorry for late news. I had taken charge of this parish on Nov 12, 2007. Just today I found a e-mail message paper which you had given him. From this I could your e-mail address. Hence I am happy to give this news. Now just I would like to give you a sad news about Fr. Joseph Oliapram. He expired on Sept 8, 2007 at 5.30 p.m in the hospital at Vijayawada. On Sept 7, 2007 he called me and I met him at Razole. We had talk for about one and half hour. He told me everything about his heart operation. | TRISTI NOTIZIE: magari le sapete già, altrimenti mi spiace davvero di dovervele comunicare. Ho preso servizio in questa parrocchia il giorno 12 novembre 2007 e solo oggi ho trovato il tuo messaggio email col tuo indirizzo per cui solo ora posso risponderti. Mi spiace tantissimo informarvi che padre Joseph Oliapram è morto il giorno 8 settembre 2007 alle ore 17.30 nell’ospedale di Vijayawada. Il giorno prima mi chiamò e lo incontrai a Razole. Parlammo insieme per circa un’ora e mezza. Mi disse tutto circa l'operazione al cuore che avrebbe dovuto subire. | |
| On Sept 8th, 2007 he went to Vijayawada for check up and to fix a date for his heart operation. He supposed to be operated on Sept 10, 2007. At 5.30 he went to doctor's room. He walked with out any problem. Till that time he has no problem at all. He had good conversation with his boy and a Nun till he went to Doctor's room. He entered doctor's room and after about 10 minutes they got news that he is no more. The doctor says that he had a massive heart-attack on bed while checking up. It was a sad incident. We are not able to believe that he is no more among us. He was a great support for us young priests. He was a moral support. He was a great inspiration and model in simplicity and spirituality. We are not able to digest that he is no more with us physically. But he is in our hearts. He is in the hearts of thousands of thousands of poor and rich people. He fed lakhs of people and gave shelter to thousands of people. He is in their hearts. Thousands of people attended his burial. | L’8 settembre andò a Vijayawada per il check up e per stabilire la data dell’intervento, supponendo che sarebbe stato fissato per il giorno 10. Alle 5.30 andò in ambulatorio. Camminava senza problemi, fino a quel momento non ne manifestava alcuno; ebbe una buona conversazione con un ragazzo ed una suora. Entrò nell’ambulatorio e dopo circa 10 minuti ci comunicarono che era morto. Il dottore parlò di un violento attacco cardiaco sul letto durante il chek up. Che incidente triste! Non riusciamo ancora a credere che non sia più fra noi. Egli era di grande di sostegno a noi giovani preti. Era un sostegno morale. Aveva una grande ispirazione ed era modello in semplicità e spiritualità. È così difficile non avere più la sua presenza fisica in mezzo a noi. Ora, però, egli è nei nostri cuori, nei cuori di migliaia e migliaia di persone, povere e ricche. Si prese cura di così tanta gente, che sfamò, che protesse, che aiutò, ed ora ciascuno lo porta in cuor suo. In migliaia hanno assistito alla sua sepoltura. | |
| His burial was on Sept 11, 2007. It was very grand. No priest had such a grand burial. Around 80 priests and two bishops and thousands of people attended the Holy Mass. He was buried in Razole itself. If you wish me to send a few of his photos, I will be glad in deed to send them to you. | Le sue esequie sono avvenute il giorno 11 settembre 2007: nessun sacerdote ebbe un così grande funerale. Circa ottanta preti e due vescovi e migliaia di persone han preso parte alla santa messa. Ora riposa a Razole. Se volete, vi mando volentieri alcune sue fotografie. | |

A WORD ABOUT SPONSERSHIP: After his death my Bishop appointed me to carry out all his dreams. As I am so much associated with him, he thought that I would be right person. I had taken charge of this parish on Nov 12, 2007. Now we have around 80 children both boys and girls. I do not know who is having and who is not having the sponsorship. I did not find any files in his room with regard to this. You might be knowing this. Please I would like to know if you wish to tell me. Now I am not able to run the Boarding. There is no money. I had before my coming to this parish the assistant Priest to Fr. Josepho Oliapram had borrowed some money from Bishop's House. Right now we have no money to run the boarding. Just now I am managing from the school money which I have to give as salary to teachers. As Christmas is coming soon, children would like to write Christmas greetings to the Benefactors. Hence I earnestly request you to some message with regard to Sponsorship. |
Qualche parola riguardo il vostro sostegno economico. Dopo la morte di padre Joseph, il vescovo mi ha assegnato la guida della parrocchia di Razole e anche “i sogni di” padre Joseph, poiché anch’egli credeva che io sarei stato la persona più adatta. Al momento abbiamo all’incirca 80 bambini (ragazzi e ragazze) e io non ho idea di chi abbia un sostegno economico e chi no. Purtroppo non ho trovato nessun file a tal proposito e ho pensato che voi potreste saperlo e che potreste dirmelo. Al momento non sono in grado di gestire questa specie di convitto: non ci sono soldi. Prima del mio avvento qui, l’assistente di padre Joseph ottenne una certa somma dall’Episcopato. Ora non disponiamo di finanze per mandarlo avanti; devo pure retribuire gli insegnanti e cercherò di racimolare i soldi da quelli della scuola. Presto sarà Natale e i bambini vorrebbero scrivere gli auguri ai propri benefattori, per cui vi chiedo davvero di aiutarmi colle varie adesioni di cui io non so niente. |
