| nonostante la grande distanza che ci separa, ci uniamo a voi nel celebrare il 25esimo anniversario della parrocchia di Razole. Preghiamo nostro Signore Gesù e la sua Santa Madre Maria affinché proteggano e facciano prosperare la vostra comunità cristiana. Siamo contenti di apprendere che il nuovo hanno è iniziato per voi con gioia e felicità e speriamo che sia lo stesso per noi. | no matter how distant we might be to each other, we feel very close to you in the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of your parish. We pray our Lord Jesus and His Holy Mother Mary to protect and make prosper your christian commmunity. We are glad to hear that the new year started for you with joy and happiness and we wish the same might happen for ourselves. |
| Certamente la vita è un grande mistero, talvolta davvero doloroso: l’anno appena trascorso, per esempio, ci ha lasciato, insieme a tanti momenti di gioia, altrettanti di tristezza e dolore ed un po’ di preoccupazione per il futuro della nostra piccola comunità. | No doubt life is a great mystery, sometimes a very painful one: last year for examlpe gave us some very joyful moments as well as some sad and painful ones, together with some worries for the future of our small community. | |
| Da una parte è ancora assai incoraggiante seguire i ragazzi crescere, come quando partecipano alle attività formative, alle vacanze organizzate, all’attività teatrale (di grande successo, come sempre); accompagnare la formazione delle giovani coppie, organizzare la festa parrocchiale estiva e rallegrarsi per la sua riuscita!! Nonostante tutto... | On the one hand it is still very encouraging to follow the kids growing up in their way through life, organising trips, excursions, theatre activities (as successful as usual! ), to support the young couples, to organize our summer festival and rejoice for its success!! | Dall’altra, gli eventi tristi ci ricordano quanto dura possa essere la vita. L’abbiamo constatato profondamente a causa della prematura ed inaspettata morte di un nostro amatissimo e stimatissimo fratello, Gianluca Catellani, che ci ha lasciato dopo una grave malattia a soli 39 anni. Ha lasciato la moglie, 3 bambini piccoli e un’intera comunità impietrita e sconvolta dal dolore (lui ha adottato uno dei vostri bimbi, insieme alla sua famiglia, una delle più generose di Mandriolo. Voglia dunque pregare per lui nella messa). | On the other hand, the sad events remind us how hard life can be. We have been deeply touched by the early and abrupt death of one of our beloved and faithful brothers, Gianluca Catellani who left this world after a serious illness at the age of 39. He left a wife, 3 children and a whole community in total despair and astonishment. They had adopted one of your kids and they were, and still are, one of the most reliable and generous families of Mandriolo. Please pray for his soul during one of your Masses. | |
| Il nostro caro Don Giancarlo, indebolito dagli acciacchi e dall’avanzare dell’età, ha formalmente lasciato il suo incarico di parroco, che ora è passato a suo fratello Don Piergiorgio. Fortunatamente è rimasto in parrocchia e può continuare a prendere parte alle funzioni. | Our beloved Don Giancarlo is getting weaker and weaker because of his illness and because of the progressive ageing. He formally left his charge as the priest of Mandriolo, passing it to his brother Don Piergiorgio. Luckily he will be able to remain in the parish and to take part in some celebrations. | |
| Ultimamente nelle nostre comunità cattoliche occidentali assistiamo alla progressiva riduzione del numero dei credenti e delle vocazioni religiose, al contrario di quanto accade in altre parti del mondo! Don Giancarlo sostiene che il nostro futuro è nelle mani di Dio, dunque è in mani molto buone!... Noi abbiamo fiducia in Lui, sicuri che Egli opera sempre per il nostro bene. | Lately in our western catholic communities we are witnessing a gradual process of decreasing number of believers and of religious vocations, which is exactly the opposite in other parts of the world! Don Giancarlo believes that our future is entirely in God's hands, therefore we are in very good hands!... we rely on Him, certainly He will find the best way out for such situation. | |
| In merito alle adozioni, come ho detto nella mia precedente lettera, abbiamo consegnato ai nostri parrocchiani tutte le letterine dei vostri bambini. Il 29 dicembre vi abbiamo spedito tutti i soldi raccolti: 9.830,00 euro, dei quali 1.800,00 euro per offerte varie e 8.030,00 euro ottenuti grazie alle adozioni (anno 2007) e ad un mercatino organizzato da bambini del catechismo. Ci faccia sapere se ha ricevuto l’intera somma. | As far as adoptions are concerned, as I said in my previous letter, we have given our parishioners all the letters of your kids. On the 29th December we sent you all the money we collected: 9.830,00 euro, of which 1.800,00 euro through offers and 8.030,00 euro through adoptions (year 2007) and a mini-market organised by the children of catechism. Please let us know if the whole sum reached you. | |
