| È trascorso un tempo abbastanza lungo dalla mia ultima lettera anche perché ultimamente sono entrati nella nostra famiglia altri due bambini adottati dalla Russia (ora i nostri figli sono 3: Natalia, Sergio e Ivan, di 6, 5 e 3 anni); a causa dei viaggi che abbiamo fatto e dell’inserimento dei bambini io e mia moglie siamo stati, e tuttora siamo, assai indaffarati. Nel frattempo abbiamo ricevuto e letto volentieri le sue lettere con gli auguri natalizi che, siapure in notevole ritardo, ricambiamo affettuosamente. | A long time has passed since my last letter also because we have recently adopted 2 other Russian children (we have now 3 children Natalia, Sergio, and Ivan of 6, 5 and 3 years old). My wife and me have been very busy because of the trips we have done and we still are because of the insertion of the Kids in a new environment. In the meanwhile we received and read with pleasure your letters with the Christmas greetings which we return, even though late. | |
| Qui a Mandriolo siamo sempre favorevolmente impressionati nel constatare, leggendo dalle sue lettere, che la missione di CONASEEMA si espande sempre di più e che il cristianesimo, oltre a rispondere ai problemi esistenziali dell’uomo, sta ponendo le basi per il progresso della vostra società. Tutto questo contrasta (provvidenzialmente) con la preoccupante decadenza di valori e di costumi cresciuta attorno a noi, frutto avvelenato del relativismo che si insinua per estromettere Cristo dalla nostra vita, per confinare il pensiero cattolico nei luoghi di culto, per negare addirittura le stesse radici cristiane della civiltà europea. | Here in Mandriolo we are always favourably struck by the fact that CONASEEMA mission is growing more and more and that Christianity is laying the bases for the progress of your society as well as answering existential problems. This clashes providentially with the worrying decadence of values and customs which has been growing around us a poisoned fruit of a dangerous relativism aimed at excluding Christ from our lives, restricting Catholic thought to the sacred places and at denying the Christian roots of the European civilization. | |

| Recentemente abbiamo rinnovato il consiglio pastorale che cercherà di dare nuovo impulso alla vita parrocchiale. Non sarà un compito facile, dati i tempi che corrono e le poche forze a disposizione, ma confidiamo che riuscirà a portare avanti la linea pastorale e la strategia più corrette per lo sviluppo della nostra comunità, per trasformare davvero la parrocchia in una grande famiglia, aperta all’esterno, così come il vescovo, a suo tempo, ci esortò a fare. Questo è possibile, con l’aiuto di Dio. | We have recently renewed the pastoral council which is trying to give a new impetus to parish life. This will not be an easy task these days, but we hope it will be able to carry out both the most correct pastoral line and strategy for the development of our community in order to change really the parish in a great family, open to the outside as the bishop urged us to do. All of this is possible, with god’s help. | |
| Se non mi sbaglio, quest’anno dovrebbe ricorrere il 40° anniversario del gemellaggio fra Amalapuram e Mandriolo (1966?). Risulta anche a lei? Può darmi un riscontro in merito? Lei conserva qualche documento, lettera e/o fotografia, che risalga a quell’epoca? | If I am not making a mistake, this year must be the 40° anniversary of the twinning of Amalapuram and Mandriolo (1966?). Do you agree? Would you give me any confirmation about that? Do you Keep any document, letter or picture of that time, by chance? | |
| Quanto al nostro aiuto, le segnalo che all’inizio di gennaio Don Giancarlo ha inviato alla vostra comunità 3.000,00 euro di cui 900,00 euro raccolti con l’iniziativa delle adozioni. A tale ultimo proposito, allego al termine di questa lettera l’elenco aggiornato degli abbinamenti i quali tengono conto sia dei bambini che se ne sono andati altrove con le rispettive famiglie, sia dei donatori che non hanno confermato l’offerta. | With regard to our help, I point out that at the beginning of January Father Giancarlo sent to your community euro 3000,00, euro 900,00 of which had been collected thanks to the adoption enterprise.
