| abbiamo ricevuto la sua lettera e-mail del 7 aprile scorso. Ci ha fatto piacere leggere il resoconto delle attività svolte nella vostra parrocchia durante il periodo pasquale. La ringrazio anche per le brevi note che ci ha dato di se stesso: è importante conoscersi come persone per mantenere anche rapporti affettivi. Siamo rimasti positivamente colpiti dalle opere che lei ha già realizzato, malgrado la sua giovane età (a proposito, quanto è nato?), e dall'entusiasmo che trapela dai suoi discorsi. Ci pare che lei si stia ben incamminando sulle orme del grande padre Joseph. Bene, continui così, e sarà di esempio ed incoraggiamento per tutti, noi compresi. | we acknowledge receipt of your e-mail dated 7 April last. We were pleased to read your update about the activities held in your parish during the Easter period. Thank you also for the brief notes about yourself: it's important to be mutually acquainted as individuals to keep up also the human side of relationships. We were impressed by the works you have accomplished so far, despite your young age (by the way, when's your birthday?), and by the enthusiasm shown in your words. We feel you are well following up after Father Joseph's steps, and keeping up like this, will be a good example and encouragement to all, ourselves included. |

Vengo subito alla sua richiesta di consiglio e di aiuto finanziario per la costruzione della chiesa di Razole. Come promesso, ho comunicato ogni cosa a Don Giancarlo ed ai parrocchiani di Mandriolo. Molti di loro erano sorpresi nell'apprendere che la vostra parrocchia non dispone ancora della chiesa, e, di fronte ad una così esplicita richiesta di aiuto per edificarla, hanno espresso il loro sincero interessamento. Di questo problema si è quindi parlato molto fra noi, specialmente in un incontro svoltosi nei giorni scorsi proprio per tentare di darvi una risposta. Abbiamo esaminato da una parte l'entità del vostro bisogno, sulla base delle poche informazioni pervenuteci, e dall'altra le (esigue) risorse di cui la nostra piccola comunità dispone. In conclusione, ho ricevuto mandato di comunicarle quanto segue. |
I now come to your request for an advice and financial support for the building of the church in Razole. As promised, I communicated everything to Father Giancarlo and the parishioners in Mandriolo. Many of them were surprised to learn your parish does not have a church yet and, faced by such an open request for support in building it, were sincerely interested in that. We have therefore long discussed your request, mainly during a parish meeting held a few days ago just to try to meet it. On one hand we examined the amount of your need, based on the brief information you supplied, on the other hand the scarce resources a our small community like ours can dispose of. To cut it short, I received mandate to communicate to you as follows. |

| La Parrocchia di Mandriolo è disponibile, di massima, a fornirvi l'aiuto richiesto, anche se al momento è difficile prevedere con precisione tempi e modalità. E' stata anche formulata l'ipotesi di contribuire in modo rateale, così da mantenere il più possibile vive ed integre le adozioni a distanza dei ragazzi che ospitate. Vorrà pertanto scusarmi per le domande che sto per farle ora, ma esse esprimono ciò che un certo numero di parrocchiani vorrebbero conoscere. | Mandriolo parish is disposed, overall, to send you the requested support, although at present it is difficult to foresee exactly times and ways. - I parrocchiani vorrebbero ricevere immagini degli ambienti in cui, durante questi anni, i fedeli di Razole hanno celebrato le funzioni liturgiche e si sono riuniti in preghiera; oppure del luogo ove dovrebbe sorgere la chiesa... - La somma che chiedete di ottenere ammonta proprio di 43.750 euro? E' il costo totale della costruzione o una parte di esso? - La somma è così precisa perché esiste già un progetto tecnico? Con quali caratteristiche? - Avete la possibilità di chiedere un prestito ad un istituto di credito, rimborsabile in tempi più o meno lunghi? - Avete un'idea sulla durata dei lavori di costruzione? Inoltre, se e quando la costruzione inizierà, saremmo lieti di essere periodicamente informati sull'andamento e sul progresso dei lavori. |
- Many parishioners wish to receive pictures of the places where so far the faithful in Razole have prayed and celebrated all their Christian functions, and/or of the place/site where such church is supposed to rise. - Can you specify precisely if the sum you require amounts to 43.750 euros exactly? Is it the total cost of the building or simply part of its cost? - Is such amount so precise because a technical project already exists? If so, what are its characteristics? - Are you in a position to ask for a mortgage to a bank-financial institution to be reimbursed in the course of time, a number of years? - Do you have any idea on how long it will take to build the church? If and when the building starts, we would appreciate being regularly updated on the course and progress of the building works. |

| Come anche lei può immaginare, questi aspetti sono importanti sul piano pratico. Conoscere meglio e consentirci di documentare ed illustrare la vostra situazione, il vostro stato di bisogno, i vostri progetti, agevolerà il nostro compito sia nel dare sia nel chiedere aiuti: chi è in grado di offrire qualcosa sarà sensibilizzato ed incoraggiato a farlo perché si renderà conto di problemi reali; inoltre sarà gratificato nel constatare, in modo diretto, che lo sforzo compiuto si traduce via via in opere tangibili. | As you can easily imagine, these are very important aspects on the practical side. | Tuttavia c’è stato anche chi, fra noi, avuta conoscenza dei vostri desideri e bisogni, ha fatto immediato ricorso ad azioni concrete. Mi riferisco alla somma di 10.000 euro che una persona mi ha consegnato, così, tutta intera e su due piedi, per la costruzione della vostra chiesa, dicendomi che la casa del Signore a Razole è più importante di tanti beni, spesso superflui, presenti nelle nostre case. Stupefacente e commovente! Faccio però notare che anche questa persona, come tutti noi, conviene sull'opportunità che sia Mandriolo, in quanto parrocchia gemellata con Razole, a farsi carico dell'iniziativa. Anzi, lo faccia in fretta, per consentirci di finalizzare a questo scopo, almeno in parte, la festa popolare che si terrà i primi giorni del prossimo mese di giugno.
