| innanzi tutto porgo a lei ed a tutta la comunità di Razole i nostri più calorosi auguri per una Santa Pasqua. Qui stiamo abbastanza bene. Soltanto don Piergiorgio, fratello di don Giancarlo, continua ad avere guai con la salute: è stato da poco dimesso dall’ospedale dopo l’ennesimo intervento chirurgico. Vogliate pregare affinché si rimetta e possa dedicarsi al suo ufficio di sacerdote. | first of all let me send you and the Razole community our wishes for a holy Easter. Everything pretty well here, only Father PierGiorgio’s health, Father Giancarlo’s brother, is getting some health trouble: he has just been dismissed from hospital after a latest surgical operation. Please pray so that he can recover soon and resume his ministry duties. |

Recentemente le ho spedito – per posta ordinaria – alcuni disegni ed una letterina con fotografia. Questo materiale mi era stato consegnato dai bambini piccoli della scuola materna di Rio Saliceto (3–6 anni) e da una ragazza i quali hanno aderito all’iniziativa delle adozioni. Inoltre, alcuni giorni fa, vi abbiamo inviato altri 1.850 euro sul conto che lei ci ha comunicato con e–mail del 10 gennaio 2008 (il vostro “diocesan social service center”, del quale il vescovo è il presidente). Di questo importo 1.560 euro si riferiscono a nuove adozioni. Per favore ci comunichi se ha ricevuto ogni cosa. |
I recently sent you by surface mail some drawings with a picture. This material had been passed to me by the young children (3 to 6 years old) and a girl of the nursery school in Rio Saliceto whom all have subscribed the distance adoption initiative. Moreover, a few days ago we sent you another 1,850 euros credited onto the bank account you gave us in your e-mail of Janury 10th 2008, (your diocesan social service center chaired by your Bishop). Out of this sum, 1.560 euros are meant to support new adoptions. Please let us know if this sum has reached you sucessfully. |

| Ho ricevuto la sua e–mail del 19 marzo 2008. È commovente sapere che i vostri bambini pregano e addirittura digiunano per noi. È una cosa straordinaria! Leggiamo con piacere anche della vostra devozione verso la via Crucis, delle costanti iniziative di preghiera che portate avanti e dei momenti formativi che lei sta preparando per la sua comunità. La vostra realtà si sta veramente sviluppando in modo promettente. Ci uniamo quindi nella preghiera affinché il Signore risorto accompagni ogni vostro progetto, spirituale e materiale. | I received your e-mail of March 19th 2008. It is quite moving knowing that your childern pray for us and also fast for us. It’s really amazing! We also read with great pleasure about your devotion to the Holy Cross, the constant initiatives of prayers you carry on and the camps your are getting ready for your community which is really developing in an exceptionally promising way. Ho letto del vostro desiderio di costruire la chiesa parrocchiale di Razole e della richiesta, formulata a don Giancarlo ed all’intera comunità di Mandriolo, di esprimere un parere in merito e di contribuire economicamente a tale opera. Dicendo che si adeguerà a ciò che le verrà consigliato, lei davvero chiede a don Giancarlo ed ai suoi parrocchiani di assumersi una importante responsabilità. Con la somma che ci ha comunicato (43.750,00 euro?) sarebbe impossibile costruire una chiesa qui da noi, ma tale importo è comunque assai impegnativo per una comunità piccola come Mandriolo. Lei deve considerare che, purtroppo, il numero di fedeli che frequentano assiduamente la nostra parrocchia è ridotto ormai a poche decine (!!!) di persone. Inoltre, in questi ultimi anni, a causa del cattivo andamento dell’economia generale del paese, il tenore di vita della gente comune ha subito un progressivo peggioramento sicché molti sono costretti ad spendere i propri soldi con attenzione. |
I read about your intention to build a new parish church for Razole and the request you submit to both Father Giancarlo and the Mandriolo community to express their opinion on this issue and consequent commitment to contribute to it. When you say you will comply with their advice to you, you really ask us to take over a great responsibility on this matter. With the amount you mention of 43.750,00 euros it would be completely impossibile to build a chulch here in Italy, yet such amount is still quite committing on the part of such a small community as Mandriolo is. You must consider that, however, the number of faihfuls who regularly attend our parish is now unfortunately limited to only a few dozens people!! Besides, in the last few years due to the unfavourable trend of economy of the country on the large scale, most people’s incomes have constantly decreased so that they now have to be very watchful with their money expenditure. | |

Le chiedo di confermare se ho ben capito: la costruzione che vorreste realizzare costa l’equivalente di 43.750,00 euro e lei ci chiede di ottenere da noi tale somma, giusto? | However it is not the case of limiting God’s Providence Whose hand is much more powerful than anything else. | Quando ci risponderà, se non è un problema, ci mandi qualche fotografia dei funerali di padre Joseph; qualche immagine sua così che noi possiamo conoscere anche lei personalmente; anche qualche immagine della struttura in cui, in mancanza di una vera chiesa, oggi si radunano i fedeli di Razole per pregare e per le funzioni religiose. | When you reply to us, if possible, could you please send us some pictures of Father Joseph’s funeral, a few pictures as well so that we can be acquainted also with you personally and some other pictures of the place where the Razole parish community, still in need of a church building, has so far gathered and still gathers for prayers and all religious celebrations? | |
